Eyeliner Tips For the Workplace

Though it may not be mandatory in every business and employment situation, it is important to use the right type of eyeliner and choose the right colors for each eye. As an employer, you are most likely to have questions about what makeup to use on different types of employees, what makeup products are best, and what to avoid when it comes to makeup. It is also important to know how the makeup works to prevent a look that is not professional or does not convey a professional image. Here are some basic tips on applying eye shadow:

A basic rule of thumb is to avoid using dark colors such as brown or black in light eye shadows. Darker colors will make your eyes appear bigger and more puffy, which may appear to be unprofessional. Instead, use shades of pink, light green, and even pale yellow for a lighter look. It may take a little experimentation to find the best color, but try a variety of colors until you find the perfect combination that will work well with your eyes. You may also want to experiment with the amount of eyeliner that you apply. If you need to use thicker eyeliner, start with a heavier line than usual, and then add more lashes to create length or to define your lower lids.

Use your finger tips to create thinner lines. Try applying thin lines using your thumb and forefinger. This is especially helpful for creating round, thin eyes or for the inner corners of the eyes. For further shaping the lower lids, simply use a mascara wand instead of a brush. For deeper eyelashes, the lashes can be removed, blended, and then they can be added back onto the eyes again for definition. When applying mascara, choose a mascara that does not clump or flake when it is applied. You may also want to have the lashes professionally removed if you want to use them regularly.
